Case Study: Inspection Reports

Asset Condition Assessment of Oil Wells

A leading global environmental consulting firm, which provides transaction support services for the upstream oil and gas industry, has been using the QNOPY Platform for the last three and half years to manage their field inspection reports. For this purpose, QNOPY configured the asset condition assessment application to focus on oil and gas well inspections, helping to reduce the overall assessments cost by over 30% and increase the speed of completion by 50%. With this streamlined field inspections program, the client finishes their projects faster and thus gains more work.

Challenges

  • Fast paced projects – only 24 hours for set-up

  • Inspectors need to see everyone’s data

  • Prior office-filled set-up information must appear in the Mobile App

  • Asset locations must appear on a map with their completion status

  • After the field visits, multiple reviewers edit the data simultaneously

  • Multiple site inspectors collaborate concurrently on the same asset

  • Partially pre-filled assessment forms

  • Requires the ability to mark items on a satellite map

QNOPY's Inspection Reports Solution

In this case, QNOPY created a custom solution for oil and gas well inspection reports. All the assets under a program are uploaded using the QNOPY field point upload module. Inspectors then receive access to the program and can view everyone’s data to avoid duplication of work. Prior to the start of field work, office personnel use the Web Portal to pre-fill available information gathered through data room research. Afterward, assessment reports are available for download in PDF, Word, or Excel formats, for individual wells or as a batch export.
